|About the Book|
This is a book for women who have been hurt. It is a book for women who wear masks, who are insecure but hide it successfully. It is for women like me who feel like we have missed out on important things because of our insecurities. In my case, I’ve always lived with that voice in the back of my mind taunting me about my plus-size self:“A plus-size can’t get a good boyfriend.”“Plus-size can’t get a good job.”“Plus-size doesn’t finish anything she’s started – except everything in the refrigerator and in the cupboards and in her secret stash.”Everyone who lives with a nagging, needling voice like that feels insecure. You can’t get comfortable in your own skin when a voice like that is pricking from within.A voice like that throws you to the ground. You feel like you have hit the pavement time and time again as that lying and harassing voice knocks you flat onto the roughest, toughest, most cruel surfaces it can find. You find yourself measuring your life by the scabs, bruises, scars, and broken bones that mark your spirit and are hidden daily behind the cheerful mask you present to your co-workers, your neighbors, your church, and your friends.Other women endure other secret insecurities. Some feel guilt over a divorce or secret shame over childhood abuse or molestation. Some feel insecure because they are at-home moms and “not important.” Some work and feel they aren’t “good enough” mothers. Some feel secret shame because they live in an abusive marriage.Whatever the hidden insecurity, we are not alone. We can stand together and we can walk with God. God promises that the vision He has for our lives will not fail to be completed. It may not happen when we expect, but it will happen at the time God has planned.Join me as we hit the pavement running for a ride out of insecurity into faith-filled success.
